Attorney Bio
Attorney Candace Harris has established a strong reputation over nearly a decade of defense litigation. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Missouri. As a Missouri State Public Defender in St. Louis City’s trial division, Mrs. Harris served as lead counsel on more than 1,000 cases, including serious traffic offenses, property crimes, and violent felonies. She conducted over sixty jury trials, bench trials, and juvenile adjudications, honing the skills that now form the core of her vigorous defense work.
In addition to her public defender experience, Mrs. Harris served as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem, advocating for abused and neglected children, and spent time as an adjunct professor at Webster University. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Mound City Bar Association, and the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association.
A graduate of St. Louis University School of Law, Mrs. Harris excelled in client counseling, negotiation, and trial competitions. Today, she resides in Accokeek, Maryland, with her family and continues to give back to her community through volunteer work, all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to her clients.
